On Tuesday, January 24th, PHOCUSED held its annual "Voice of the People" rally in support of restoring the cuts to essential services. With hundreds of people gathered together in solidarity around the Capitol Rotunda, we sent a powerful message to the legislators and their staff that people are ready to stand up and demand that the safety net of our Aloha State be restored and the most vulnerable people among us receive the services they need.
PHOCUSED has met with leadership in the Administration and the Departments to share our deep concerns about damage to the safety net on behalf of the vulnerable, and we are a visible presence at the Legislature as funding recommendations move forward in the House and the Senate.
We believe in the importance of working together to mitigate the damage from cuts to the health and human service programs.
